Pricing, up front

$50 once. No subscription, ever.

Start with a 7-day free trial, no credit card. When you're ready, pay $50 one time for the desktop app on up to two devices, updates included. AI usage is yours using VaultRAG built in backend with Openrouter or bring your own: Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode run on the Claude or ChatGPT subscription you already have. New to OpenRouter? See the OpenRouter setup guide.

For development

Open a repository and the agent reads the code, makes the change, runs the tests, and shows every edit as a diff you can review before it lands. Open the Git view to stage, commit, and raise a pull request without leaving the app, and ask for a review of the branch when you're done. VaultRAG Git view with commit timeline, changed files, and a side-by-side diff

For research

Point it at a folder of papers, notes, or reports instead. The agent searches your vault by meaning, reads the passages that matter, pulls in the web when you allow it, and writes up findings with citations back to your own documents. Deep research plans the sweep for you and reviews its own gaps before reporting. VaultRAG deep research with results

For your files

Ask for the work, not the clicks: draft a document, build a deck or a spreadsheet, turn a folder of exports into a clean CSV, write the script that renames a thousand photos. It happens in a working folder you chose, and the file manager is one tab away to see the result. VaultRAG search with results

Work that keeps going

Set a goal and the chat keeps working until it is met. Schedule a job and it runs every morning while you sleep. Step away and answer the agent's approval card from your phone. Come back tomorrow and the conversation, its folder, and its session are exactly where you left them. VaultRAG help results for goal

Pick the agent for the task

Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Goose, Hermes Agent, or VaultRAG's own chat with its tool loop, switched per conversation from one picker with each agent's models and thinking levels. They run on the accounts you already have, and every one of them gets the same vault access, the same approvals, and the same Git, phone, and scheduling around it. VaultRAG backends displayed

Commands worth knowing

Type / for everything the current agent understands. The ones people use most: /research for a cited deep dive, /goal to keep working until a condition holds, /review for a code review, /git for the Git view, /cron to schedule work, /remote-control to pair a phone, and help <topic> for any feature. From your phone

The same workspace, from anywhere, on your own network.

Pair your phone with a full web app runs over your own Tailscale network: chat with any backend, pick models and working folders, search and download vault documents, answer agent approval cards, review git changes, and manage scheduled jobs. No relay, no account, no third party; the server listens on localhost and only Tailscale Serve reaches it.

Pair once, use anywhere

Scan a QR code or open a link; the code lasts five minutes. Each device gets its own revocable token, stored only as a hash. Add the page to your home screen and it behaves like an app. VaultRAG pairing displayed

Everything the desktop does

Backend, model, thinking level and working folder per reply, photo and file attachments, slash commands, and markdown, tables, code, math and charts rendered natively. A reply started on the phone shows up on the desktop too. VaultRAG phone view displayed

Access your vault with navigation or search

All you files are accessible on the go. Open documents, pictures, and search for the document on you desktop that you forgot at home. Access connected drives and setup personal accessible storage. VaultRAG phone search displayed

Local and private

Your files never have to leave your computer.

VaultRAG works with top cloud models when you want maximum power, or with local models that run entirely on your own hardware when you want full privacy. The same search, chat, and file actions work either way. Run a local chat model and a local embedding model together and VaultRAG never sends your documents or queries anywhere, even offline. The privacy story extends to agents too: the vault server agents use is read-only and never reachable from outside your machine, agent CLIs authenticate in your own terminal so VaultRAG never handles credentials, usage analytics are computed from local log files with no network call, and the phone remote runs over your own Tailscale network with no relay in between.

File manager

A real file manager, one tab away from chat.

VaultRAG also ships with a full file manager built into the same app. One keyboard shortcut tabs you between chat and the file manager, so you stop bouncing between two separate apps and get your work done faster.

The VaultRAG file manager with sidebar, grid view, and preview pane.

Everything you expect from a desktop file manager is here. Browse with list view or grid view, sort however you like, and jump between local drives, mounted servers, and your VaultRAG vault from the sidebar. Add your own folders to the file tree and group them into Favorites for one-click access.

Preview files inline with the preview pane, or hit space bar for a quick full preview the same way you would in Finder or File Explorer. Generate or edit a file summary right from the preview, then pin the file to the chat for easy access or drop it straight into the chat context to ask questions about it.

Create files and folders directly inside the vault, compress and extract ZIPs, open a folder in your terminal or in VS Code, and move files with verified transfers that check every byte landed before the original is deleted. Search across everything from the top bar and move around quickly with keyboard shortcuts. It is a file manager and an AI workspace in one window.
